HOW DO THEY MAKE M&Ms?

HOW DO THEY MAKE M&Ms?

This is one of the notorious questions you may be asked if interviewing with Microsoft. Or this: “How would you design Bill Gates bathroom?” Incidentally it’s not easy to add to what Gates hasn’t thought of himself – like being able to fill his bathtub to desired height and temperature via remote control from his car.

Companies like Microsoft are less interested in what you have done or know than in how you think. They want people who can not only deal with change but know how to initiate it and provide creative solutions.

Here are some others you may want to be prepared for:
“How do they make M&Ms?”
“How would you weigh an airplane without a scale?”
“Why are manhole covers round?”
“How many barbers are there in Chicago?”

If you do great on Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit you can possibly be replaced with a computer. Knowing how to think is a critical “area of competence” in today’s hiring market.
